Job Title: Senior Technical Support Engineer: Windows & VMware Administrator
Job purpose: We are looking for a skilled Windows & VMware Administrator to manage and support Windows Server environments and VMware virtualization platforms. The role involves ensuring the stability, performance, security, and availability of virtualized infrastructure while supporting business‑critical applications and services.
Qualification: Graduation
Certification:
- VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP‑DCV)
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Legacy MCSA / MCSE (Windows Server) acceptable where applicable
Experience:
- 7–10+ years total IT experience
- 3–5+ years hands-on experience on Windows and Virtualization
Responsibilities:
Windows Server Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022)
- Administer Active Directory, including users, groups, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP
- Perform server patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity
- Troubleshoot Windows OS‑level issues impacting applications and services
- Implement security hardening and adhere to best practices
VMware Virtualization Administration
- Administer and maintain VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter)
- Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines
- Perform VM provisioning, cloning, snapshots, and resource optimization
- Monitor host, datastore, and VM performance
- Manage HA, DRS, and vMotion configurations
- Support VMware upgrades, patching, and version migrations
- Troubleshoot VMware infrastructure and performance issues
Backup, DR & Infrastructure Support
- Support backup and recovery operations for virtual machines
- Assist with disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing
- Coordinate infrastructure changes and maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with operational and security standards
Operations & Support
- Handle incidents, service requests, and problems within defined SLAs
- Participate in change management and planned maintenance windows
- Document configurations, SOPs, and operational procedures
- Coordinate with application, network, and security teams
- Provide on‑call or after‑hours support as require
Mandatory:
- Strong experience with Windows Server administration
- Hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)
- Solid knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs
- Experience troubleshooting Windows and VMware infrastructure issues
- Understanding of virtualization concepts, resource management, and performance tuning
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell preferred) OPTIONAL
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem management).
