Job Title: Senior Technical Support Engineer - Windows Admin
Job Purpose: We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Exchange Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in Exchange Online (Microsoft 365) and Exchange On‑Premises environments. The role requires deep knowledge of messaging platforms, hybrid configurations, migrations, security, and troubleshooting. Windows Server administration skills are required to support the underlying Exchange infrastructure.
Qualification: Graduation
Certification: Microsoft certifications (Exchange, Microsoft 365, Windows Server)
Experience:
- 7–10+ years total IT experience
- 5+ years hands-on, Microsoft Exchange Online and Exchange On‑Premises
Responsibilities:
Core Exchange Responsibilities (Primary Focus)
- Administer, support, and maintain Microsoft Exchange Online and Exchange On‑Premises environments
- Manage mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, mail-enabled security groups, and contacts
- Configure and support Exchange Hybrid deployments, including AAD Connect and mail flow
- Monitor and troubleshoot mail delivery issues, performance bottlenecks, and service outages
- Perform Exchange migrations (On‑Prem to Exchange Online, tenant-to-tenant, mailbox moves)
- Manage mail flow rules, connectors, transport rules, and SMTP relay configurations
- Implement and manage email security, anti-spam, anti-malware, phishing protection, and compliance policies
- Configure retention policies, archiving, journaling, and eDiscovery
- Perform Exchange upgrades, patching, CU installations, and decommissioning
- Analyze logs and trace emails to resolve complex messaging issues
- Support audits, compliance requirements, and security reviews related to email services
Microsoft 365 (Secondary) & Messaging Integration
- Manage Exchange Online through Microsoft 365 Admin Center and PowerShell
- Handle user provisioning, mailbox licensing, and service configurations
- Integrate Exchange with Azure AD / Entra ID, identity governance, and conditional access
- Work closely with security teams on Defender for Office 365 configurations
Windows Server (Supporting Skillset)
- Administer Windows Server systems supporting Exchange infrastructure
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policies relevant to Exchange
- Ensure server availability, patching, and performance monitoring
- Troubleshoot OS-level issues impacting Exchange services
Operations & Support
- Handle incidents, service requests, and problems within defined SLAs
- Participate in change management and maintenance windows
- Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks
- Coordinate with MSP teams, application owners, and vendors
- Provide on-call or after-hours support when required
Mandatory:
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange Online and Exchange On‑Premises
- Proven experience managing Exchange Hybrid environments
- Expertise in mail flow, security, compliance, and retention
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for Exchange administration
- Solid understanding of Active Directory and Windows Server fundamentals
- Experience troubleshooting complex Exchange-related issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment
