Why Are AIOps Tools Essential For New Age Monitoring?

Conventional monitoring provides the operations teams with critical visibility into the health of their IT systems with limited scope, but with the help of the AIOps tool, it allows the operations teams to significantly broaden their view.

In a data center environment, multiple tools are monitoring a variety of hardware, network, storage, and applications, all of which produce huge fragmented data. These fragmented pieces of information lead to IT operations oversights or mistakes with no clear pointed information about potential system issue identification or performance issue resolution.

Artificial intelligence for IT operations (AIOps) helps overcome these limitations. AI-based monitoring tools gather information from the IT tools and devices that are already in place, apply detailed analytics and machine learning to that information, and use the results to identify and correct potential issues within an environment.

AIOps monitoring platforms correlate events and alerts to recognize relationships across applications and infrastructure and distinguish between normal and abnormal system behavior.

In a traditional APM and IPM, where only pointed deviations are noted, the correlation between multiple monitoring data is missing and any intelligent conclusion regarding the root cause of any issue is left solely to the operations team. In contrast, the AIOps tools not only correlate amongst all the existing monitoring data but also learn the trend of data, concluding accurately in regards to the abnormal behaviors. With the same correlation capability, they suppress noise (duplicate errors) and indicate the root causes. In addition, AIOps can recommend the solution as well as automate certain remedial actions as per design.
