Get the Mountain View of Your Enterprise Assets with Infor Enterprise Asset Management

‘Online EAM demo in an hour’s time … said my MD over phone. This was not a problem as we were ready with standard HxGn EAM Demo Script.

CEO & Operational Manager of a Water Treatment Plant wanted to see the demo and we were ready to showcase with Industry standard jargons like re-engineering, RCM, FMECA along with other standard features…

After initial introduction, when I was about to start the product demo, the CEO stopped me and said – ‘We need Mountain View. Show us that. Hope your HxGn EAM system supports this.’

He used Mountain as a metaphor to their operational activities. In mountain, you have FOOT, SLOPE & SUMMIT. In Maintenance Organizations, they have a Team of Technicians (to do actual work), a team of Mid Management (Supervisors, Engineers etc…) & Management.

When you are at foot, we have various options to go up. Similarly, the application should have ability to define work flow based on type of Work Orders, POs etc… Sometime, we assume that the path we are following is right but then after few steps realize that we need to change or else it will be disaster. Similarly, the application should provide proactive feedback after analysis and have the flexibility to change the workflow.

When you are at slope, you should be able to guide people below and also, look up at the summit to see where we have to reach. In the same way, the application should provide information proactively so that the supervisor can guide their respective teams keeping in mind the goals set by the management.

When you are at Summit, you see the complete view from the top, you feel that you have conquered the mountain and things are in control. Similarly, the application should be able to give confidence to top management by keeping track of operational activities, teams KPIs, Budgets through Dashboard and reports.

I was lucky enough that I was presenting HxGn EAM. One of the most user friendly Enterprise Asset Management Application with rich functionalities for Asset Management, Work Management, Purchase Management & Inventory Management.

I was able to showcase how easily a workflow can be configured and modified, if required. A role based HOME page that Monitor’s KPIs, provides information on day to day activities. How, with one click, an end user initiates a work request and a notification goes to respective team.

For the supervisors, demonstrated OPENCAD – ‘Interface with CAD drawing’, effective and efficient way of scheduling of employees, mobility & contract management.

For the Management, showcased RCM & FMECA related functionalities, how effectively we can define maintenance strategies keeping into account the Budgets of maintenance and criticality of the assets.

The ease of use makes this application fun to present and for the clients, it is easier to understand. This reduces the sales cycle considerably.

Needless to say, the client liked our presentation and we did receive positive feedback from them. The best part as mentioned by the client was, how easily we were able to change the workflow on the fly and how most of the configurations are done from the front end.

Coming week, we are going for the kick-off meeting… to configure the Mountain View as expected by the client.
